Privacy Policy for AskDad

AskDad is an AI-assisted guidance application developed by SWEAF®. This Privacy Policy explains what information AskDad collects, how it is used, where it is processed, and how users can request deletion.

1. Information We Collect

AskDad may collect your email address, account identifier, optional display name, conversation prompts, AI-generated responses, saved guidance and notes, helpful/not-helpful feedback, AI-content reports, account-deletion requests, timestamps, daily request counts, and moderation metadata.

2. Account Information

Email addresses are used for authentication, account management, service communication, and protecting account access. AskDad normally uses email one-time-password authentication. Never share an OTP or password with anyone claiming to represent AskDad or SWEAF®.

3. Conversation Content

Prompts submitted to AskDad and resulting AI responses may be stored in your conversation history so that you can review, save, and manage guidance. Conversation titles may be created from part of the submitted prompt. Do not submit passwords, payment information, government identifiers, medical records, or other highly sensitive personal information.

4. AI Processing

To generate a response, the text of an allowed prompt and relevant AskDad instructions may be sent to the OpenAI API. AskDad does not intentionally send your email address, display name, or account identifier in the model prompt.

OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in. Provider practices remain subject to OpenAI's API data-usage information.

5. Moderation and Safety

AskDad checks prompts against safety restrictions. Moderation records may contain your account identifier, status, category, reason, prompt length, timestamps, and a peppered one-way correlation hash. New moderation records do not duplicate the raw prompt text. Allowed prompts may still be stored in conversation history as described above.

6. Feedback and Reporting

If you rate a response, save guidance, add a note, or report AI-generated content, AskDad stores the associated action so the feature can operate and reports can be reviewed for safety, quality, abuse prevention, and policy compliance.

7. Usage Limits

AskDad records a daily request count associated with your account to enforce quotas, protect service availability, and control abuse and operating costs.

8. Service Providers

AskDad uses Supabase for authentication, cloud database storage, security rules, and server-side functions, and OpenAI for AI response generation. These providers process data to provide services on SWEAF®'s behalf and are subject to their own security, privacy, and contractual terms.

9. Data Sharing and Sale

SWEAF® does not sell personal information and does not use AskDad data for third-party advertising. Information may be transferred to the service providers described above, when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate notice and safeguards.

10. Security

Data is transmitted using HTTPS encryption. AskDad uses authenticated sessions, row-level database access controls, server-side API keys, request limits, restricted administrative access, and privacy-reduced moderation logs. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

11. Retention

Account information and conversation content are generally retained while your account remains active or until you clear data or request deletion. Safety, support, and deletion records are retained only as reasonably necessary for operating the service, preventing abuse, resolving disputes, or meeting legal obligations. Limited de-identified security records may be retained where reasonably necessary.

12. Your Controls

Depending on the available app version, you can view conversation history, clear user data, remove saved items, report AI content, and request account deletion from the Profile screen. You may also request deletion through AskDad Data Deletion.

13. Children

AskDad is not directed to children under 13. Users below the age of legal majority should use the service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. Users should not submit personal information about children.

14. International Processing

Supabase, OpenAI, and their infrastructure providers may process information in countries other than your own. Applicable contractual and technical safeguards are used where required.

15. Website Analytics

The AskDad mobile app currently contains no advertising SDK or dedicated analytics/crash-reporting SDK. The SWEAF® website hosting this policy may use limited website analytics and essential technologies independently of the AskDad app.

16. Changes

This policy may be updated when AskDad's features, providers, or legal obligations change. The revision date will be updated on this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or website where appropriate.
