AuroWomen — Automated Safety-Alert SMS Consent
Purpose of the Messaging Program
AuroWomen can attempt to send user-triggered SOS safety-alert text messages to trusted contacts in eligible United States and Canada deployments.
These are transactional safety messages. They are not advertising or marketing messages. AuroWomen is not an emergency service and does not contact or dispatch police, ambulance or fire services.
Who Provides Consent
The AuroWomen user enters a trusted contact’s phone number only after obtaining permission to use it for personal safety purposes.
Automated SMS requires a separate optional confirmation that the trusted contact gave permission to receive automated AuroWomen safety-alert text messages.
The consent checkbox is not preselected. A contact can remain available for manual calling and messaging when automated-SMS consent is not provided.
Verbal Consent Process
Before enabling automated SMS, the Auro Women user asks the trusted contact for permission to receive automated AuroWomen safety-alert text messages.
Suggested Verbal Consent Script
AuroWomen can send you automated safety-alert text messages when I manually trigger SOS. Messages may include my name, alert time, available location or map information, and a secure acknowledgement link. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. AuroWomen is not an emergency service. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Do you agree to receive these messages at this phone number?
The trusted contact must clearly agree. The Auro Women user then records that prior verbal permission using a separate optional checkbox in the app. The checkbox is unchecked by default. Contacts without automated-SMS consent remain available for manual calling and messaging.
Information Shown at Opt-In
The app displays the following confirmation:
“I confirm this trusted contact gave me permission to receive automated AuroWomen safety-alert text messages at this number.”
The app also displays:
“Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. AuroWomen is not an emergency service. Contacts without consent remain available for manual calling and messaging.”
The consent screen links to the AuroWomen Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Messages Sent
An alert may contain the AuroWomen user’s name, alert time, available location context, a map link, an acknowledgement link, safety limitations, opt-out instructions and support information.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies according to SOS alerts initiated by the AuroWomen user. A trusted contact may receive no messages or multiple messages when alerts or permitted retries are triggered.
Message and data rates may apply.
Opt Out and Help
Reply STOP to opt out of future automated messages.
Reply HELP for assistance or contact developer@sweaf.biz.
Consent may also be withdrawn by asking the AuroWomen user to disable automated SMS consent or remove the trusted contact.
Delivery Limitations
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Twilio processes destination numbers and message content solely as a service provider for requested delivery.
